On Thursday 5th December, our ELICOS students spent the afternoon volunteering in Pipemakers Park in Maribyrnong.
The students learnt about native/indigenous vegetation and how introduced species are harmful. Team leader, Jess, showed the group how to identify the difference between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ plants, and how to use the garden tools to remove all the weeds.
Thank you to our students for helping the community; the group really enjoyed working as a team to complete the task.
Here at Ozford we host such activities to help our English learning students to interpret and discuss the distinctive cultural nuances of the regions they belong to.
