How to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the world is suffering from a pandemic situation of COVID-19 Coronavirus, at Ozford Melbourne we are taking precautionary measures to stay safe here in Melbourne.

1.Wash your hands regularly!

We are asking all students to make sure that they wash their hands regularly with warm water and soap. The World Health Organisation (WHO) is recommending that you wash your hands for around 20 seconds, as this is enough time to kill bacteria and viruses.

2. Maintain social distancing!

Try and stay at least 1 metre from others who are surrounding you. When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease.

3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth!

Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. The WHO suggests avoid all touching of your face!

4. Practice good respiratory hygiene!

Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.

At Ozford Melbourne we are monitoring the current state of the Coronavirus in Melbourne and the state of Victoria and are taking advice from the relevant authorities to help you stay safe in Melbourne. Support is available for all staff and students and if you require more information please contact us. Stay safe in Melbourne!
